Experts have determined Hi-PSI-G’s impact on manufacturing cost and profitability. Figure 4 illustrates the production cost advantage of Hi-PSI-G versus the production costs of other conventional processes. As indicated, Hi-PSI-G has an expected lower cost in each manufacturing category as compared to the other methods.
Such cost advantages has immense implications for large volume producers like gypsum board manufacturers. To illustrate the point, consider the production of gypsum board which has about 50% alpha hemihydrate content. Figure 5 shows the change in manufacturing costs for a typical board plant. The unit cost reductions are the result of 1) reduced energy costs, and 2) added production capacity for a plant that with GBT’s process is now able to bring the dryer up to the same loading as with the conventional process. learn about manufacturing profitability
